I was just going to pretend like I never did this but Candice posted some pics on her blog so I figure I better defend myself but I wasn't about to put any pictures where you could actually see me! Last weekend I attempted my first triathalon. I have to say I was totally unprepared. I thought it would force me to work out because it had become kind of hard to get out and do it with Anna. Well I paid the fee and needless to say still never worked out. I didn't want to waste my money though so I went for it anyway. Dave let me borrow his bike which was a great bike but I haven't been on a bike outside of the gym since I was like 12. Can you tell where this is going? I rode it once before the race to test it out but didn't even know how to change the gears. When I got back Dave gave me a little lesson on how to do it and I thought okay I'm ready. Well the swim went fine- I got out of the water in 20 minutes and thought okay I'm doing okay here. I got on the bike and could hardly pedal. I could not shift the gears- the resistance was super hard and I couldn't get it to change. After 6 1/2 miles I realized it was taking almost as long as the whole thing should take and I still had to go around again. I was really tempted just to go to the transition and pretend that was my second loop! Anyway by the time I got to the run I was exhausted. I was thinking the whole time I can't believe I paid money to do this and I will never do this again. Now I think the only reason I would do it again is to redeem myself. And than maybe I would train!

I love being a mom. We got Seven Peaks passes this year and it opened last week and we have already been 3 times. Anna loves the water. This is going to be a great summer.

Oh my gosh Kimmie! Good job!! I could barely get through a 5K. I know it's crazy, but I want to try one of these things out one day. Give me like 5 years though.
I still think it's amazing that you even attempted! Way to go! And, super cute pictures of Anna -- she is a doll!
