Not So Happy Anniversary

So yesterday was our second anniversary. I would first just like to say Beau, I love you- I'm the luckiest. Annversary's aren't really our thing- on our first I was 9 months pregnant-enough said. Our second wasn't the greatest day ever. We weren't really planning to celebrate yesterday since it was on a Sunday anyway. But let me start from the beginning of the day. I think Anna is teething again. She hardly slept Saturday and than decided to wake up at 5:30 on Sunday and I couldn't get her back to sleep. Beau went to a meeting at 9 and I tried to get Anna down for her morning nap a few times, I was finally able to get her to sleep around 10, laid her down in her crib just as some lovely neighbor started a table saw or something right outside her window. She woke right up. By the time Beau got home I was only half ready and she was a little monster. I tried one more time to get her to sleep and it worked so I told Beau to go to the first half of church and I would go to the second to teach YW. She slept for a 1/2 hour. I tried to get her down for her afternoon nap. She had other plans and we were both exhausted. Beau had another meeting at 4:15 and then we were going straight down to his parents for dinner and a birthday party for our niece Addison. I was in the bathroom getting ready to go and she was playing in there. She was looking at herself in the mirror on the back of the door (which she does all the time) when suddenly she started screaming. I turned around to see blood gushing from her finger. She had cut it on the corner of the mirror. I stuck her hand under the water and it just kept gushing blood. I tried to put a bandaid on it and it immediately soaked through. She wouldn't let me look at it or hold it. Blood was everywhere. I couldn't find my phone, Beau wasn't home. She soaked through the second bandaid and was filling up the third. So I just left, drove to the church, couldn't find Beau, so I went to the ER. After we had checked in I used the phone to call Beau and he was home wondering where on earth we were. Sunday dinner was waiting after all! He had seen my phone in the house and put it in his pocket to give to me??? So I went home to pick him up. 3 1/2 hours, lots of tears, and 6 bandaids later our girl had her finger glued shut. We probably all got the swine flu waiting in there but at least she's not bleeding anymore. It was right near the knuckle so she has to wear a splint and my new challenge is to keep her from pulling it off. The picture is really blurry but it was the best I could do with a wiggly little baby.

We got home at about 9 and she went right to sleep and slept until 8-she never does that.
Today she is happy as can be. She keeps pulling at her splint and banging it on everything so it can't be hurting too much, right?

Even with a splint she is a perfect little doll! Isn't it funny how days meant to be special usually turn out to be disastrous? Congrats on 2 years!

i am so sorry.. as for her banging it on everything dont worry she will tell you when it hurts.. that is what is great with little kids.. ( i work in the ER and have learned a lot there.. ) just watch for signs of infection (fever, reddness around her finger, etc).. she is absolutely adorable!! congrats on the 2 years!!

She looks like she doesn't even feel it! And Brock thinks she looks like she's flipping everyone off with the bandage. Haha! She's adorable.
